Safety Tips for Running in the Dark


With a busy schedule and limited hours during the day, some runners find their only time to run in the dark mornings or evenings. Hiking in the afternoon is always a safer option, but if you need to do at night or in the morning, you should follow these guidelines.

Select High-lit route
This may not be running your favorite route, but the best route-hell is your safest choice. Closer to your car look better, and you'll always be able to see the road and avoid any possible threat.

Always run against traffic regulations
It's easier to avoid a car when you see them coming. Avoid busy roads and those who are not the shoulder or sidewalk.

Be visible
When you walk in the morning or evening, take in the twilight, white, wearing yellow or orange. Also, make sure that reflective gear. Although some items (running shoes, jackets) already have reflective pieces on them, it never hurts to add more. A spotlight is also great products for runners who do a lot of walking in the morning or evening.

Always Have identification on your
Put your SIM in your pocket or wear ID tags on your shoes.

Vary your route and times
Potential attackers may routines runners "and weaves in very dark or isolated areas to learn. Do not make yourself an easy target.

Run with a buddy
There is strength and safety in numbers. If possible, try to never walk alone. If you want to go alone, let someone know that running your way around and how long you will come out.

Carrying Cell Phones
You can contact the police immediately if something happens or you see something unusual.

Watch out for bikes and runners
Even if you run across the street or in a park with no cars, always aware of other runners and cyclists. Before you turn or stop, make sure your path is clear. This council is run for both daylight and darkness.
